The Ohio Program annually brings average 400 interns from over 50 countries to the U.S. Over the nearly 40 years of operations, we welcomed interns from 100 countries!

The Ohio Program participants use the J-1 non-immigrant visa that allows them to experience living in the USA and gain professional training related to their field of study and future career plans.
Type of Programs
- Crops and Machinery - such as large scale farms producing corn, wheat, sorghum, and compaines provide harvesting servise of crop farming.
- Livestock - typically dairy farming or swine production.
- Horticulture - such as greenhouse production, public gardening, landscape design and construction, retail in a garden center.
- Turfgrass - management that is gold course maintenance and groundskeeping.
Completion Time
A typical program takes 6 to 12 months. We have a limited number of offers that last 3 to 6 months. In some cases participants on the J1 Trainee visa can extend their stay up to 18 months.
*Grace Period: After completing training, the intern will have 30 days of grace period for travel. Remeber this is for travel in the U.S. only! And if you travel outside the U.S., you can not re-enter the USA with the same, now expired, visa.

Required Health Insurance
The U.S. Department of State (DOS) sets a minimum standard level of health insurance coverage. TOP will supply you with health insurance that at least meets and in most cases exceeds this required minimum coverage.
Orientation
Most participants will come to TOP office in Columbus OH for orientation before they begin their internship/training program. In limited cases interns could travel directly from their home country to their host company.
Finish the Program
TOP office will issue a "OSU Completion Certificate" at the end of the program to succesful participants.
